The group is designed to cater for young people with additional learning needs and those who will benefit from a quieter environment. Activities focus on promoting civic responsibility, personal skill development as well as health and well being. Age guide is 12+
If you want to join this small but supportive group please contact us.
 Young Leader Programme (13-18yr olds)
This AQA-accredited programme, Northumberland County Council’s Young Leader Programme teaches crucial skills such as planning, communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and leadership, thus equipping young people for work through participation in practical activities. Key skills developed within the programme include, but are not restricted to:
  • Leadership & Personal Development: Confidence building, emotional intelligence, resilience, goal setting, and time management.
  • Practical & Technical Skills: Planning, risk assessment, health & safety, and leading activities.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Effective communication, collaboration, and working with others.
Our first programme has now finished but we will be looking at running more soon. Over the period of the programme, young people will build leadership and personal development skills, as well as communication and teamwork. There will also be opportunities to gain skills in areas of interest such as sport, drama, entrepreneurship, and more.
These courses can help develop young volunteers for Amble Youth Project, support other charitable groups in the community, and even help towards future employment – perhaps even with us one day!
If your young person would be interested in being placed on the list for future programmes, please let us know.
