Our “ In from the Outside” Connexions Project, works with young people who are 'NEET' ( Not in Education, Employment or Training) and those who have been permanently excluded from school, the focus of the work delivered is to help young people with CV’s, job applications, cover letters, claim benefits, assist with housing needs and much more.

Over the past year there have been over 1000 visits by young people to the project, with over 60 CV’s being compiled or updated, numerous job applications being submitted and hundreds of job search opportunities been accessed.
Youth Drop-In Sessions
Amble Youth Project runs several projects for young people 12-19 years, there is a Health/ Sexual; /Health Drop-In each week staffed by a nurse, we also employ a midwife to deliver advice and information on heath issues as well as delivering an outreach health programme to all year 10’s in Coquet High School and Duchess High School on a yearly basis
There is a free Drop-In youth service within the Project which opens five evenings each week, fifty one weeks of the year; young people have access to a wide range of constructive enjoyable activities in a safe friendly environment.
There is also free internet access and several PS 2’s, X Boxes, Dance Mats, a new PS 3, high density televisions, arts and craft materials, games etc.
Young people are able to buy low cost healthy food, ‘smoothies’, hot and cold drinks, and most weeks there is free fruit.
The Project works in partnership with 'SORTED', to deliver work around the issues of drugs and alcohol, regular fun workshops are delivered to young people.
We also partnership work with the Ambulance Service who deliver their “Don’t Walk Away” safety programme to many of the young service users.
Young people in Amble visit the Project for many reasons, but mainly to meet with their peers and to participate in a variety of youth activities, access to a wide range of information and support.
What We Offer
We offer free and confidential advice. Information and support in a youth friendly environment to young people 12-19 years, as well as some holiday activities for 9-12 year olds.
You can talk to a youth or health worker about anything face to face or you can use our web site forum page.
At Amble Youth Project everything you say to a Project Worker is confidential. this means that no information will be passed on to anyone without your consent (e.g. to parent, teachers or peers)
The only exception to this is if we believe you or someone else is at risk of being harmed, or that you intend to harm yourself. If we did feel that we had to break confidentiality then a worker would always let you know first.
There is free entry to all of our projects and services provided you are in the right age group.
We offer advice, information, C CARD Registration from our Registered Outlet, Chlamydia testing, a weekly health/sexual health drop-in, one to one work, group work, issue based workshops, free internet access, art and craft sessions, help with CV’s, job search opportunities, job applications, benefit claims, cover letters and can help young people to find training placements in our Connexions “In from the Outside” Project.
